“Three of a Kind”

Posted on by Norine

Silverpoint Drawing
5.5×7″ lavender prepared paper

I did this drawing with a silver stylus on paper that I prepared with a lavender tint, and then used white charcoal for the highlights. Over time the lines will tarnish to a metallic sepia tone. This is a drawing medium known as silverpoint, which was used extensively during the Renaissance era. Some of the earliest examples date to the 12th century.

This buyer will receive “Three of a Kind” matted and covered with a clear acetate envelope. A Silverpoint Description card will accompany it.
