Silverpoint Drawing
5×7″ lavender-gray prepared paper

That gang of cotton balls is back, this time as a silverpoint on prepared paper. (See “Soft Sell” the painting – about three posts back.)

Did you know that silverpoint pre-dates the pencil as a drawing medium and reached its height during the Renaissance? This drawing was done with a silver stylus; I prepared the paper with a lavender-gray tone, then used white charcoal for highlights. The lines are actually silver and will tarnish over time to a shimmery sepia tone. To learn more about Silverpoint please visit my website by clicking on the link at right.

The buyer will receive this silverpoint matted and protected in clear acetate. A Silverpoint Description card will accompany it.
