Silverpoint Drawing
5×7″ green-gray prepared paper

This drawing is created with a silver stylus on a specially coated surface - a Renaissance-era medium known as silverpoint. I prepared the paper with a green-gray tone and added white charcoal highlights. Silverpoint will tarnish to a metallic sepia tone over time. To learn more about it, and to see the silverpoint box and stylus holders that I made, please visit my website. Don’t forget to subscribe to The Art Fly to receive images as I post them!

For an inside look at this shell, please see May 2009 archives at upper right; go to May 7 post for an x-ray view of this.

Please email me if you are interested in this silverpoint.
